Thomas Wolfe, a contemporary and friend of Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald, once maligned and then embraced by his hometown of Asheville, wrote extensively (his manuscripts easily ran over 1,100 pages before precision guidance and editing by Maxwell Perkins) about the people and his experiences in Asheville. No more so than "Look Homeward, Angel."
TW was buried in Asheville in 1938 after succumbing to tuberculosis of the brain. He was only 37 and had so much more to write about his small mountain community.
It has been a long time coming but I can see the torch has been passed.
Happy to hear you are settling in so well! I'm not surprised at all, Asheville is great! If I ever move back to the US that would be my number one choice for relocation.
So inspiring, Virginia! I would hazard literally everyone dreams of what you are doing. You go, girl!
I just cannot get enough of your journey! Brava on all fronts!

New Skin for the Old Ceremony.
Just went to his Memorial last week! Thank you for the compliment and hopefully I won't piss anyone off so badly that I have to leave town!
I’m almost famous! Congratulations to all y’all.
Inspirational and fabulous, you and your post! xox
